Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that any person can master. Chef Burrell was a student and worked in the best New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food early on. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She gained a deeper appreciation of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her style of cooking. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists children with obstacles. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and profession. Anne has, through her whole cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share her passion for the food industry with people.
